common multiple
Mutually divisible number
A common multiple is a number that is a multiple of two or more numbers.
For 4 and 6, common multiples include 12, 24, and 36.
The smallest of these—the least common multiple or LCM—is often what's needed in arithmetic, especially when adding fractions with different denominators.
