common divisor
Mutual whole factor
A common divisor is a number that divides two or more other numbers without leaving a remainder.
For 12 and 18, the common divisors are 1, 2, 3, and 6.
The largest of these—the greatest common divisor—is used to reduce fractions to lowest terms: Find the greatest common divisor of the numerator and denominator.
