chest strap
Cross-body securing belt
A chest strap is a band that wraps around the torso, typically just below the chest.
In fitness contexts, it holds a heart rate monitor against the skin: The chest strap pairs with your watch to track your pulse.
Chest straps also appear on backpacks, baby carriers, and climbing harnesses to secure loads or distribute weight across the body.
