cheek biting
Inner mouth gnawing
Cheek biting is the habit of chewing or gnawing on the inside of one's cheeks, often unconsciously.
Like nail biting, it can be a nervous behavior or stress response.
Chronic cheek biting may cause tissue damage or sores: I didn't realize how much I was cheek biting until my dentist pointed out the marks.
