cc'ing

Adding to email

Cc'ing is the act of sending someone a copy of an email or message, from the "cc" (carbon copy) field in email programs.

The term adapts the old practice of making carbon copies of typed documents: I'm cc'ing my manager on this thread.

It signals inclusion without making someone the primary recipient.
