catch-basin
Roadside runoff collector
A catch-basin is a drain at the side of a street or in a parking lot, designed to collect surface water and debris.
It typically has a grated opening and a sump below that traps sediment before water flows into the sewer system: Leaves clogged the catch-basin after the storm.
