cast-offs

Rejected, now donated

Cast-offs are things that have been discarded or given away because the original owner no longer wants them.

The term most often applies to clothing: She dressed her younger children in cast-offs from the older ones.

It can also refer to people who have been rejected or abandoned: The shelter took in society's cast-offs.

As an adjective, cast-off describes something secondhand or discarded: cast-off furniture.
