carpet tack
Rug-securing nail
A carpet tack is a short, sharp nail with a broad flat head, used to secure carpet or other fabric to a floor or wooden frame.
The wide head prevents the material from pulling through.
Carpet tacks are typically driven in rows along edges: He knelt down and pounded in the carpet tacks one by one.
