car park

Automobile storage area

A car park is a British term for what Americans call a parking lot—an area designated for leaving vehicles temporarily.

It can be an open surface lot or a multi-story structure: The car park was full, so we had to circle the block.

The term appears in British English, Australian English, and other Commonwealth varieties.
