bussing

Shuttling by coach

Bussing is an alternative spelling of busying, from the verb bus.

It most commonly refers to clearing dirty dishes from tables in a restaurant, work typically done by a busboy or busser.

In American English, bussing also refers to transporting students by bus to schools outside their neighborhoods, a practice used historically to achieve racial integration: The court ordered bussing to desegregate the district's schools.

The spelling busing is more common for both senses.
