Stacked sleeping frames
Bunk beds are a space-saving furniture arrangement where two bed frames are stacked vertically, one above the other, connected by a ladder or stairs for accessing the upper berth.
They're standard in children's bedrooms, dormitories, military barracks, and anywhere floor space is limited.
The term comes from the nautical bunk, a built-in sleeping berth on ships.
The kids argued over who got the top bunk.
