brony

Adult cartoon fan

A brony is an adult male fan of the animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, which originally targeted young girls.

The term blends "bro" with "pony" and emerged in the early 2010s as the show developed an unexpected following among older viewers, particularly young men online.

Bronies often participate in fan communities, create artwork, attend conventions, and engage deeply with the show's characters and themes.

The term can be used neutrally or disparagingly depending on context.
