speedpaint

Fast-forwarded art video

A speedpaint is a digital artwork created in a compressed timeframe, typically minutes to a few hours, or a video recording of such a creation process, often sped up for viewing.

Artists share speedpaints online to demonstrate techniques, showcase their workflow, or simply entertain.

The term functions as both noun and verb: I watched her speedpaint a portrait in under an hour.

The appeal lies in watching complex images emerge rapidly from blank canvases.
