hater
Online negativity spreader
A hater is someone who habitually criticizes, disparages, or resents others—often those who are successful or popular.
The word gained currency in hip-hop and internet culture, where it describes people whose negativity seems motivated by jealousy rather than legitimate grievance: Don't listen to the haters.
To hate on someone is to express such resentment: Why you gotta hate on my success?
