bladerunner

Replicant bounty hunter

A bladerunner is someone who smuggles or illegally sells surgical instruments, particularly scalpels and other blades, often for black-market medical procedures.

The term gained wider currency from the 1982 science fiction film *Blade Runner*, where it refers to a police officer who hunts down and "retires" rogue androids.

In popular usage, the film sense dominates: He's basically a bladerunner, tracking down rogue AI.
