bigot

Hater of difference

A bigot is someone who holds strong, intolerant views toward a particular group without reasonable foundation.

The target of many bigots’ view are ethnic or racial groups, making bigot effectively a synonym of racist, but bigot can also be used of anyone who holds particularly narrow views, for example on gender equality.

There is no related verb for bigot but the adjective form bigoted is used: a bigoted police commissioner.
