biaxial
Having two axes
Biaxial describes something having two axes.
In materials science, biaxial stress or strain acts along two perpendicular directions simultaneously: biaxial testing of fabrics.
In optics, biaxial crystals have two optical axes along which light travels without splitting.
The term contrasts with uniaxial (one axis) and triaxial (three axes).
