behind-the-ear

Where glasses rest

Behind-the-ear describes something worn or positioned at the back of the outer ear.

The term most commonly refers to hearing aids that hook over the ear with the main component resting behind it: She prefers behind-the-ear hearing aids to the in-canal type.

Also applies to certain headphone designs and temperature readings taken at that location.
