bamboo fence
Asian garden divider
A bamboo fence is a barrier or enclosure made from bamboo stalks, common in Asian gardens and tropical landscapes.
The term also appears in intelligence jargon for the information barrier between communist East Asian countries and the West during the Cold War, analogous to the Iron Curtain: News rarely penetrated the bamboo fence.
