ballot drop box
Election deposit container
A ballot drop box is a secure container where voters can deposit completed mail-in or absentee ballots instead of mailing them or voting in person.
Typically placed at government buildings, libraries, or other public locations, these boxes allow voters to submit ballots without relying on postal delivery: I dropped my ballot in the drop box outside city hall.
They became politically contentious in the United States during the 2020 election.
