backouts
Last-minute cancellations
Backouts is the plural of backout, a withdrawal from a commitment, agreement, or planned action.
In software development, a backout reverses a code change that caused problems: We had three backouts this week due to failed deployments.
More generally, backouts describe any last-minute retreats: The deal collapsed after multiple investor backouts.
