avalanche dog
Snow burial finder
An avalanche dog is a dog trained to locate people buried under snow after an avalanche.
These dogs, typically breeds like German Shepherds or Border Collies, use their keen sense of smell to detect human scent beneath the snowpack and alert rescue teams: The avalanche dog found the skier within minutes.
