autoinjector
Self-administered drug pen
An autoinjector is a medical device designed to deliver a single dose of medication, typically by spring-loaded needle into muscle or under the skin.
The most familiar is the EpiPen, which delivers epinephrine during severe allergic reactions: She carries an autoinjector for bee stings.
Autoinjectors allow patients to self-administer emergency medication without medical training.
