author visits
Novelist meets readers
Author visits are events where writers speak at schools, libraries, bookstores, or literary festivals, typically reading from their work, discussing their creative process, and answering audience questions.
For children's and young adult authors especially, school visits are a significant part of professional life and income: The library scheduled three author visits during banned books week.
Publishers often coordinate visits around book releases.
