shared reading
Reading aloud together
Shared reading is an educational practice where an adult reads aloud with children, making the text visible so learners can follow along.
The adult models fluent reading while children participate by chiming in on repeated phrases or familiar words.
Common in early literacy instruction: During shared reading, the teacher pointed to each word as the class read together.
