asterisms
Recognized celestial groupings
Asterisms are patterns of stars that form recognizable shapes in the night sky but aren't officially designated constellations.
The Big Dipper is an asterism within the constellation Ursa Major; Orion's Belt is three stars within Orion.
In typography, an asterism is a triangular cluster of three asterisks (⁂) used to mark section breaks or draw attention to passages.
