aspect ratios
Width-to-height relationships
Aspect ratios express the proportional relationship between width and height, typically of screens, images, or film frames.
The ratio 16:9 is standard for widescreen televisions; 4:3 was the old television standard.
In cinema, aspect ratios like 2.39:1 create the wide letterbox format.
The aspect ratio determines how much you'll crop when printing photos.
