arroba
Old Iberian measure
Arroba is a unit of weight used historically in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America, roughly 25 pounds or 11-12 kilograms.
The symbol @ derives from this term and was used in commercial contexts to mean "at the rate of" before becoming the universal email symbol: Send it to me @ this address.
