appositively
As a renamer
In an appositive manner—that is, by placing a noun or noun phrase beside another to explain or identify it.
In my brother, the doctor, the phrase "the doctor" is used appositively to clarify which brother.
The construction is common in journalism and formal writing for adding information without a separate clause.
