antiheroine

Morally ambiguous lead

An antiheroine is a female protagonist who lacks conventional heroic qualities—she may be morally ambiguous, deeply flawed, or driven by selfish motives rather than noble ones.

Unlike villains, antiheroines remain central figures the audience follows, often with sympathy despite their failings: The show's antiheroine lies and manipulates, yet viewers root for her.
