annal
One year's history
An annal is a record of events for a single year.
The word appears almost exclusively in its plural form, annals, meaning historical records organized chronologically: the annals of history, in the annals of science.
To say something is in the annals of a field suggests it has secured a permanent place in that domain's recorded history.
