animal art
Creatures in galleries
Art depicting animals, or art created by animals themselves.
The former ranges from prehistoric cave paintings to wildlife photography to pet portraits.
The latter—paintings made by elephants, chimps, or cats—raises questions about intention and aesthetics: The zoo sells animal art made by their orangutans.
The term also covers art incorporating animal materials like feathers or bone.
