abduct
Take by force
To abduct is to take someone away by force or deception, typically for ransom, sexual exploitation, or political leverage.
The word implies the victim is held against their will: The child was abducted from a playground.
In anatomy, to abduct a limb is to move it away from the body's midline—the opposite of adduct.
