Woodsy Owl
Forest Service bird
Woodsy Owl is a cartoon owl mascot created by the U.S.
Forest Service in 1971 to promote environmental awareness, particularly anti-pollution efforts.
His slogan "Give a hoot—don't pollute" became widely recognized through public service announcements aimed at children.
Like Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl represents government conservation messaging through a friendly anthropomorphized animal character.
