WWII bunker

Underground military refuge

A WWII bunker is a reinforced underground or partially underground shelter built during World War II for military defense or civilian protection.

These concrete structures housed command centers, artillery positions, or air-raid shelters: They discovered an old WWII bunker in the hillside.

Many survive as historical sites or have been repurposed.
