Checkout scanner targets
UPC codes are the barcodes printed on product packaging—the pattern of vertical lines and numbers that identify items at checkout.
UPC stands for Universal Product Code.
The term is slightly redundant since the C already means code, but scan the UPC code is standard usage in retail contexts.
