inventory count
Warehouse tally session
An inventory count is a physical tally of goods or stock on hand, typically conducted to verify that recorded quantities match actual quantities.
Businesses perform inventory counts periodically—annually, quarterly, or continuously through cycle counting—to catch discrepancies, shrinkage, or errors: We're closed for inventory count this weekend.
Also called stocktaking or physical inventory.
