number sequence

Pattern of digits

A number sequence is an ordered list of numbers following a pattern or rule.

The simplest examples include counting by ones (1, 2, 3, 4...) or by twos (2, 4, 6, 8...).

More complex sequences follow mathematical rules—the Fibonacci sequence adds each pair of consecutive numbers to produce the next.

Sequence puzzles ask you to identify the pattern and predict what comes next.
