Twitterbot

Self-posting account

A Twitterbot is an automated account on Twitter (now X) that posts, replies, or interacts without direct human control.

Some are benign—posting weather updates, poetry, or reminders.

Others spread spam, amplify political messages, or inflate follower counts artificially.

Half the accounts pushing that hashtag were Twitterbots.

The term often carries negative connotations of inauthenticity or manipulation.
