The Birds
Feathered terror film
*The Birds* is Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 horror film in which flocks of birds inexplicably attack a California coastal town.
The title has become shorthand for any scenario of nature turning hostile or animals behaving threateningly: It was like *The Birds* out there—seagulls diving at everyone on the beach.
The film adapts a 1952 Daphne du Maurier short story of the same name.
