Tejano music
Texas-Mexican musical fusion
Tejano music is a genre originating among Mexican Americans in Texas, blending traditional Mexican styles like conjunto and norteño with American influences—country, rock, R&B, and polka.
The sound typically features accordion, bajo sexto guitar, and modern instrumentation.
Selena brought Tejano to mainstream attention in the 1990s.
The dance hall played Tejano music all night.
