Tammy Wynette

Tammy Wynette (1942–1998) was an American country music singer known as the "First Lady of Country Music." Her signature song "Stand by Your Man" (1968) became one of the best-selling singles by a woman in country music history, though its message of unconditional loyalty to a husband drew feminist criticism.

Her emotionally intense vocal style influenced generations of country singers.
