Swiss chard
Colorful leafy vegetable
Swiss chard is a leafy green vegetable with large, crinkled leaves and thick, often colorful stalks.
Despite the name, it originates from the Mediterranean, not Switzerland.
The leaves cook like spinach; the stalks like celery.
Both parts are edible: I sautéed the Swiss chard with garlic and olive oil.
