St Paul's Cathedral
Wren's domed masterpiece
St Paul's Cathedral is the Anglican cathedral in London, situated at the top of Ludgate Hill in the City of London.
The current building, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710, replaced an earlier cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666.
Its distinctive dome dominates the London skyline and has made it an enduring symbol of the city.
The cathedral hosts major state ceremonies including royal weddings and funerals: They watched the service from St Paul's Cathedral on television.
