Where Greece sits
Southeast Europe is the region comprising the Balkan Peninsula and surrounding areas, typically including countries such as Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Slovenia, and sometimes Turkey and Moldova.
The region is often discussed in terms of its complex ethnic composition, historical conflicts, and post-communist transitions.
Tourism in Southeast Europe has grown significantly since the 1990s.
