Slimer is the green, gluttonous ghost from the Ghostbusters franchise—a blob-like creature known for leaving trails of ectoplasm.
The name has become shorthand for anything grotesquely slimy or someone with disgusting eating habits: He attacked that pizza like Slimer.
In broader use, slimer can describe anyone or anything that leaves a mess or coating behind.
