Segovia
Castilian city, Roman ruins
Segovia is a city in central Spain, northwest of Madrid, renowned for its remarkably preserved Roman aqueduct that spans the old town.
The city's historic center, including its medieval castle (the Alcázar) and Gothic cathedral, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Segovia also refers to Andrés Segovia, the Spanish classical guitarist who revolutionized the instrument's status in the 20th century and established much of the modern classical guitar repertoire.
