Rocky Top
Volunteers' fight song
Rocky Top is a bluegrass song about the Tennessee hills, written in 1967 and adopted as one of Tennessee's official state songs.
It serves as the fight song for the University of Tennessee, where crowds sing it at sporting events with intense enthusiasm: The band played Rocky Top after every touchdown.
The name evokes both the song and, by extension, Tennessee pride and identity.
