Red eye names several things united by the appearance of redness in or around eyes.
A red-eye is a late-night or overnight flight, so called because passengers arrive bleary-eyed: I caught the red-eye from LA to New York.
In photography, red-eye is the effect when flash reflects off the retina, making eyes glow red.
Red eye is also cheap whiskey, black coffee, or a mix of beer and tomato juice.
