A climate denier is someone who rejects the scientific consensus that human activity is causing global climate change.
The term is pejorative, used by those who accept climate science to characterize opponents as irrational or willfully ignorant: Climate deniers in Congress blocked the emissions bill.
Those so labeled often prefer "climate skeptic."
